@ctcapitolreport Also CT unemployment is above the national average which means that there is no competition for jobs. The jobs are moving to low cost regions.
Policies which seem to be pro worker but are anti jobs end up hurting workers which is part of why workers vote republican.
@ctcapitolreport There are no jobs for more workers. CT hasn’t seen growth in employment in 30 years.
It’s cost prohibitive to start a business in CT — too high minimum wage and too many mandated employee benefits are stifling startups and prevent relocation to CT. Importing illegals won’t help
BREAKING: Calls to expand the Supreme Court EXPLODE after they ruled that Americans can't sue the maker of Roundup weedkiller for causing cancer — blocking thousands of lawsuit.
These Republican justices are utterly corrupt...
"Impeach the corrupt right-wing justices and pack the fucking court already. Enough," wrote leftist commentator Kyle Kulinski on X.
"SCOTUS rules Monsanto/Bayer can’t be sued for omitting a warning even if their herbicides do cause cancer. Even if the legal reasoning of the court is sound in this case, it’s a blatant travesty of justice," Republican Congressman Thomas Massie wrote on X. "Congress and the President can fix this and we absolutely should."
The court's decision to side with Bayer — which became the manufacturer of Roundup after they purchased the maker Monsanto in 2018 — is the latest in a long string of decisions in which the justices have sided with corporate interests over the welfare of the American people. In its current state, with a Republican majority, the Supreme Court functions as just another arm of these massive companies.
They ruled against a Missouri man who convincingly argued that his cancer was caused by Roundup. A jury had previously awarded him $1.25 million. The Trump administration supported Monsanto in this case, removing any lingering doubt that the "Make America Healthy Again" shtick was a farce. This White House was always going to choose profits over people.
The decision comes after Bayer was hit by a deluge of lawsuits for failing to properly warn customers that their product can cause cancer. The justices' incredibly tenuous logic was that because federal regulations have not found the cancer link in question, a label is not required and failure-to-warn lawsuits at a state level are illegitimate.
Jay Feldman of Beyond Pesticides, a health and environmental group, called the ruling "a tragic setback for public and environmental health,."
It's time we stop pretending that the Supreme Court is some sacred, nonpartisan institution. Right-wingers have spent decades stacking it with reactionary ideologues in order to undermine the public interest and entrench the power of the super-rich and corporations. Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito literally take bribes from billionaires in the form of lavish gifts and trips. They're not even pretending at legitimacy.
That leaves us with one option. Since the court is now nothing more than a partisan battleground, we need to start taking territory. Expand the court and nominate liberal justices to seize back control of our democracy!
Please ❤️ and share if you support expanding the court!
“In short, the Communists everywhere support every revolutionary movement against the existing social and political order of things”.

This is the spirit behind Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed and the DSA surge in major cities today.
Did Elon Musk kill millions of people by cutting USAID? We now have preliminary 2025 mortality data from several African countries, and the answer may shock you: no. There is no detectable mortality signal at all.
Connecticut's unemployment rate is now 5.1%.
The national rate is 4.3%.
This marks the fifth straight month Connecticut has had higher unemployment than the nation.
Why are we moving in the wrong direction?

@SlopedPyramid@AlecStapp you're showing your bias. Note: Obama got warrants in Tesla and his got stock for TARP assistance & gave $4B in grants to Co.s with direct ties to staffers and donors. money vanished. FDR was first to take preferred stock, and tariffs are bi-lateral - landlords can't retaliate
@AlecStapp@TrueSlazac Tariffs are not the same as rent control. Tariffs can be imposed by either side in trade, and can be hidden in other taxes and fees which are not called tariffs like differences in VAT or labor laws.
@nypost He’s a marketing genius, has a great smile, and knows how to engage with the public all while he is ruining the future of New York City and undermining all of the policies, ideals, and innovation that made it the greatest city in the world.
@nypost Not every job is designed to "get by" on that one job. Some jobs are for high school and college kids to earn extra money and learn about work. Some jobs are for people to to work to help their family to make a little extra. Most earning min wage are not "primary wage earners"
