The wealth of knowledge from Instructors Monia and Jody, in addition to strong worker advocates from several different unions in attendance was amazing. These workers are fighting for workers everyday - and winning.
In Canada, 35% of individuals who menstruate have had to sacrifice essentials to afford menstrual products.
This year, Unifor's Ontario Regional Council proudly supported the 10-year anniversary event of United Way’s Period Promise campaign, which provides menstrual products to those in need.
Yesterday, we joined several advocates, allies and community partners at Queens Park in recognition of the second anniversary of the province's acknowledgment of Injured Workers Day.
Workers are advocating for full access to compensation and calling attention to the ongoing claims suppression. Meanwhile, the current government and WSIB continues to reward employers by allocating billions of dollars to employers in refunds instead of providing support to the workers in need.
