The current state of Fandom has done unfathomable things to storytelling. No one wants to engage with stories anymore they just wanna kill the author and insert their headcanons from jump and I have to ask once again why dont yall make your own shit
you can comment, you can dm me, you can @ me on social media, you can send a carrier pigeon, you can slip in line behind me at the grocery store and whisper it in my ear, you can
@bl00dyrust interpretation associated with the label. i’m simply pro-creative freedom and against policing/censoring fiction, while still having my own boundaries and opinions on what people create.
i wouldn’t call myself proship or anti, honestly. i believe fiction and art shouldn’t be censored for being taboo, but that doesn’t mean i condone everything that’s written or drawn. i also don’t think everything needs to be sexualised. yet i’m not interested in policing others.
@bl00dyrust Proship generally refers to the belief that people should be free to ship whatever they want and that fictional shipping isn’t inherently harmful or morally indicative of the person enjoying it. i agree with parts of that, but i don’t necessarily agree with every belief or
fiction ≠ endorsement. you can enjoy a ship, dynamic, taboo topic, or uncomfortable theme without endorsing it in real life. enjoying something in fiction doesn’t make you inherently evil or immoral. please take notes, it’s really not that complicated.
@mykikeinmoloch i very clearly state fiction does not equal endorsement? just because someone chooses to write about or explore a particular subject does not automatically mean they condone, support, or agree with it.
Many, many people would be happier in fandom if they accepted their favorite character’s canon characterization and didn’t seek to sanitize them. Many people want their faves to be better than they are.
this app is funny because certain shippers will shit on sansan by saying that george won’t romanticize pedophilia while wholeheartedly believing that he’ll make their incestuous and pedophilic ship not only canon, but romantic and hopeful
@eternlmoonshin3 me when i defend jaime lannister of all characters while screaming about a ship that’s considerably less problematic than all the shit he’s done combined
i genuinely don’t understand making the ships you abhor your entire personality. especially in asoiaf of all fandoms. you’re already enjoying deeply problematic media, so maybe let other people be ‘problematic’ too. you’re not morally superior for disliking a fictional ship.
