i took my non-birder friends birding and i thinkkk we saw a nightingale and my first instinct was to yell DID WE JUST SEE A NIGHTINGALE THESE DON'T EVEN EXIST WHAT forgetting that they're not chronically online on bird twitter
yesterday i walked 5km, studied for 4 hours, rode 9 km on a bike, found a bug infestation, freaked out, cleaned till 3am and made marry me with orzo and chickpeas for dinner

oh right when i confused a buzzard with a lesser spotted eagle Hello to my defence my parents told me it's one and they have been birding for 20+ years so i was just like Okay:D
had a wake up call today when i went "oh it's just a grebe" and my friend went "what do you mean JUST a grebe?!?!?!?!?" i almost forgot the true source of whimsy which is appreciating all birds regardless of how common they are like these look like id put them on my kingdoms flag
