Sometimes people are better at dealing with differences when they learn something about each other - in a funny way, it may be something they have in common that is the first step towards celebrating diversity.
I mark #deafawareness by deciding to end my irritation when asked to repeat myself.
Instead, I face the listener, take away my face covering, speak clearly; attract their attention, switching off competing sound, announcing the topic, give space for questions and smile😀
