@ThePrimeagen Recently read the "Hierarchy" series, so "The Will of the Many" and the 2nd book "The Strength of the Few". Can recommend. Also "The Name of the Wind" if you haven't read that one yet.
Fork your dependencies, trim them to only your use case, never update unless it breaks for your users. I’ve been vocal about this for 10+ years. I’ve always said that updating is way riskier than latent bugs (which can be tracked and CVEs monitored).
If you are updating a dependency, it’s on you to analyze every single commit in the full transitive set of dependencies. If you dont see anything compelling, dont update!
I remember at HashiCorp once in awhile an engineer would try to update a dep or replace a DIY lib with an external one and id always ask “show me the commit we need.” Dont update for the sake of it.
Feeling pretty swell about this mentality with all the supply chain attacks happening.
@kevinroose 1. always a pro, the reader is what my decision of getting the book depends on 100%. if the voice actor doesn't fit my taste, i don't listen or read the book at all or switch to a different language.
2. straight readthrough
3. 1x speed
@whatever_q2@landen_rl Imo there's more to it than that in general. UE5 (or 6 now) mainly improves development speed, tooling, maintainability, and modern platform support. This would likely mean faster feature updates, better long-term support and easier development. Although performance could worsen
@fezco_fcb@iMiaSanMia Rage bait obv. It's basically not possible with how the system works and the opponents. It's so easy that it doesn't even work as a joke.
@arushrthomas@HMXPt2@iMiaSanMia@DFB_Team The press conference is at 1pm so plenty of time until then. That's basically what you wanted, just that they've added some sort of hype up part.
@AdarWeinreb@basithladoo It's in some ways tricking your metabolism, which could affect some people worse than others. But there's still lots of research to do to figure it out completely. In theory, it's better than regular sugar, but i can't stand the zaste tbh.
