Hello world! ๐
I'm Karina and I'm a creative technologist, software developer, and designer. I currently work as a new media exhibit technician for the Exploratorium in SF and I also freelance for startups under my own small agency (appropriately called KACHOW! LLC ๐ฏ๏ธ (1/7)
@AaronKempf3@Urpos012 Personally I think it is accurate. They have huge money makers that carry the rest.
Ten billion in quarterly revenue could be even more if they leaned up!
As an ex Microsoft employee, I know at least 6 people taking this offer.
And another 2 who are don't want to but are terrified what will happen to them in the following year if they don't.
NEARLY 1 OUT OF 3 (60,000 EMPLOYEES) AT MICROSOFT BEING OFFERED VOLUNTARY TERMINATION
Emails should be going out any minute to those receiving the offer.
Absolutely insane.
Wait no I like how I applied for a job once and was told I wouldn't be considered because I didn't have a strong enough portfolio.
Two years later a recruiter emailed me back, seemingly forgetting that I applied two years prior, and asked if I had heard of them.
I was a power user of their product, so in reply to that I forwarded the last exchange I had then a bunch of screenshots of bugs that I see in the product every day and just said "yes I've heard of you".
Got hired that time lol
@Duodecahedron12 It's such a huge corporation. I have friends on teams that are super happy. My team on the other hand was miserable and most of us left.
Then I know some people who don't really care and are just holding on for dear life for all those benefits
@jag_99 Right it might have died spiritually... But many people working on those teams were still there in Microsoft or shuffled into other teams.
This is part of the bloat I think Microsoft is interested in addressing.
