The @cata_light Young Scientist Symposium is an online organized conference organized by PhD students aimed at young researchers in the field of photocatalysis!
And that's a wrap! We want to thank all speakers, poster presenters & attendants who made #CYSS2021 a success! Congratulations to Florian (@tuBraunschweig) & Philipp (@UniJena) for winning the 2 poster prizes, sponsored by @RoySocChemBooks & @thiemechemistry!
Congrats to this amazing project and all PIs, staff, PhD students, and postdocs involved! We're happy to have been part of this journey with #CYSS2020 and #CYSS2021. This also means the end of CYSS for now - hopefully see you all in the future one way or another!
When we invest in mentoring early-career researchers, the outcome is likely to be great research.
When we focus only on getting research done, the outcome is *not* likely to be great mentoring.
Priorities matter.
Exciting update! Check out our @ChemRxiv pre-print where we:
1. Unveil the @QMOF_Database web app on the #MaterialsProject.
2. Explore #compchem limitations in band gap & partial charge predictions.
3. Develop multi-fidelity #ML models for MOF band gaps.

New aspects on: Photoactive iron complexes: more sustainable, but still a challenge - now published in Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers https://t.co/n92r21Fd7q - including sustainability assessment. Many thanks to @VukaYan and @philips_dirk
A useful strategy to explore reduction and oxidation cycles in photocatalysis. Check out this #OA article @jphyschem AU and find out how bipolar membrane can be used to load semiconductor and metal catalysts https://t.co/jzejWPsDBM
Editorial about my paper being rejected without review from @ChemMater Lessons learned. "I want to stress that this is not a call to oversell research results... but rather a call to explicitly articulate your major findings and their context upfront." https://t.co/I20Rsh8DEl
Converting blue photons to highly energetic UV light.
Till's paper has just been accepted in @JMaterChem C.
Let's see if it will pave the way for novel #upconversion applications, as a referee indicated ("will certainly be a landmark in the field").😊
