Tweets on... basically everything, in a personal capacity.
Hi! I work as a consultant/freelancer in a lot of fields, including: Teaching, E-Learning, Modelling/Simulation, Games, and AI.
If you have a project that you think might benefit from my work, check out my website at https://t.co/mRSvYcNe8q or get in touch.
The problem with finishing a project is that you instantly want to jump into the next one with a whole load of new ideas.
Also my reading list of SEng/education books is far too long right now.
My students asking me if they can follow me on instagram and me just sheepishly responding I'm absolutely not cool enough to have an instagram.
Is it still a cool thing? Or is it an everyone thing? I can't keep track of the trends and i hate social media :P
I just finished with my current course! From monday, I'm on medical leave until 1st March 2023. Any work enquiries can go to my normal address (capage [at] anotherfeather [dot] co [dot] uk) but answers are going to be very spotty during that time.
@Ninfa_dp I do think the real world has had an impact on technology usage but i fear most of that has been unhealthy; doomscrolling/sinking into algorithmic feeds. I have seen a trend of people getting more into video and VR chat but to me that's very different to "metaverse" being pushed
@Ninfa_dp To me it's much more about there being fewer opportunities for profit in technology, and needing a new avenue to try and monetise. That and the continuation of the trend of technology systems becoming centrally controlled walled gardens.
There's also part of me that kinda hopes it becomes more prolific because it'll give me the perfect excuse to give up technology and live in the woods, never to return.
And ultimately it just seems down to whether or not you have a decent material analysis. If your politics is mostly vibes and aesthetic, you think you can dress up this nonsense "for a good cause." If you have a solid material analysis and understanding of the world, you don't.
