If Paul Harvey were with us today this is a story he might share:
In an era, many still remember⦠the late nineteen-eighties.
America was busy chasing dreams, paying bills, hoping tomorrow might be just a little safer⦠a little kinder.
The Berlin Wall was still standing.
The Cold War still humming.
And uncertainty was something we all lived with.
But on the sun-washed West Coast sat one young couple with no thoughts to spare for world affairs.
Because to them, their world⦠had shrunk⦠to the size of a small hospital room.
Inside that room lay their little boy.
Barely three.
Eyes meant for toy-box mischief⦠instead blinking from behind tubes and softly beeping monitors.
A rare disease had twisted his airway, and every breath was a battle.
Doctors triedātruly triedā
but the specialists who might help were three thousand miles away.
So, the parents did what desperate parents do.
They started making phone calls. First to the airlines.
āPlease⦠we just need to get him there.ā
One by one, the answers all came back the same: āNo.ā
Too many machines.
Too much liability.
We have rules⦠you understand.
So, they turned to faith.
To their community.
Pastors, rabbis, friends, even acquaintancesā
Their story drifted quietly, passing from heart to heart,
like message bottles tossed into a vast⦠indifferent⦠sea.
But sometimes⦠the sea answers.
A man known for headlines⦠not for quiet kindness.
A man who never mentions the good he does when nobodyās watching.
He heard the story.
He heard the ticking clock.
And without speeches⦠without camerasā¦
he simply said:
āLet me take care of it.ā
Arrangements for a plane were madeā
a plane ready for oxygen⦠equipment⦠and hope.
That day, the little family crossed the continent.
Parents holding hands & saying prayers,
as the machines hummed their fragile lullabies,
until they reached the waiting specialists.
Though the boyās days would remain far too few,
he was given more days.
More whispers.
More touches.
More love.
These were gifts his parents would carry for the rest of their lives.
But the cost?
Never discussed.
Never mentioned.
Never billed.
Never used for applause⦠or even to score political points. Just a quiet act of kindness
hidden behind an infamously brash exterior.
A story which would never have surfaced at allā¦
except for the grateful heartsāhearts that couldnāt forget.
And the man behind that quiet gesture?
The one who would never tell this story himself,
or ask anyone else to tell it for him?
Donald Trump.
And now you knowā¦the rest of the story.
Guys, donāt do it the way sheās describingāit wonāt fix the problem. It may feel good in the moment to throw that response back, but it usually wonāt get you where you actually want to go.
The real conversation has to be one about boundaries, needs, and understanding each other. And it has to be a conversation, not an argument.
Explain how much intimacy means to you. More importantly, explain why it matters. For many of us, it isnāt just about sexāitās about feeling desired, loved, wanted, and emotionally connected. Point to something sheās genuinely passionate about and say, āThatās the kind of passion I want to know you feel for me.ā
Before you have that conversation, do some soul-searching. Figure out what you genuinely need to feel fulfilled in your marriage and what youāre willingāand not willingāto live with long term. You need to know that yourself before you can explain it to someone else.
A good marriage or sex therapist will usually tell you to start there: honest communication about needs, expectations, and boundaries instead of sarcasm or score-keeping.
Then⦠listen. Really hear what she says. If there are barriers keeping her from wanting intimacyāstress, pain, hormones, resentment, exhaustion, feeling disconnected, whatever they may beāwork together to find solutions. This isnāt about one person winning; itās about solving the problem as a team.
You also have to help her understand that no, sex isnāt all you think about. But when an important emotional need goes unmet for months or years, of course you think about it more. Thatās human nature. It becomes a vicious cycle that both people need to understand.
One thing that helped me think about this differently is getting away from endless ānot tonight.ā Of course sheās allowed to not feel well or simply not be in the mood sometimesābe understanding. But if tonight isnāt a good night, ask if the two of you can pick another time. That communicates that intimacy is important instead of letting ānot tonightā quietly become āmaybe next month.ā If those follow-ups never happen, then itās time to go back to the conversation about needs, expectations, and whether the relationship is meeting both peopleās needs.
Every couple is different, so there are no guarantees. But honest conversations where both people feel heard have a much better chance of improving things than snappy comebacks or trying to hurt each other.
Another thing Iād suggest is finding a legitimate adult sex education resource. There are some excellent ones out there. Theyāre not pornographyātheyāre educational, and while some include nudity, itās for the purpose of teaching, not arousal. If your partner is open to watching together, you may both learn things that make intimacy more enjoyable and easier to talk about.
Most importantly, prepare yourself mentally before the conversation. Know your own boundaries, stay calm, and make it collaborative. If emotions get too heated, take a 5ā30 minute break, let both of you settle down, and come back to the discussion. Repeat that as many times as necessary until you both genuinely feel heard.
Many couples do turn the corner on this issue, but it almost never happens through vindictiveness. It happens through honesty, understanding, and both people deciding the relationship is worth fighting for.
You can do it. It isnāt the easy path, but in my experience the easy path is usually what keeps couples stuck. Whether your marriage ultimately survives or not, youāll know you approached it with honesty, respect, and integrity instead of resentment. If thereās something worth saving, thatās how you give it the best chance.
Good luckāI sincerely hope the two of you find your way back to each other.

@Stw3334@EQuinones6310 If your mind is blown by Walmart. You need to go to Costco, Samās Club, or BJāsā¦ā¦.
As a regular gas station like Sheetz, Quick trip, WaWaās, or even Pilot/FlyingJ is to Buc-eeās
A normal Walmart/Target is to a Costco/Samās or BJāsā¦.
