@jaredcornutt But now there is a vibrant church in a growing community. The wisdom and steadfastness of the older congregation has been combined with the growth and vitality of the younger. I really believe both churches are much more healthy as a result.
@jaredcornutt Couldn’t agree more. We spent the past seven years with a church plant in Huntsville that shared a building with a declining church. After seven years, our two congregations voted to merge. By no means was it the “easy” route. It took years of humility and trust on both sides.
Call me an optimistic dreamer, but I actually think the SBC has much hope in light of reported decline.

@JonathanLeeman I completely agree. In our house, it is considered shameful to add milk to black tea until the tea has steeped completely. Adding milk too early = weak tea.
Leading and singing with @thewellhsv has been one of the biggest blessings I’ve experienced in ministry! This congregation has been evidence that what and how we sing is so important because our singing is a direct reflection of the truth and our unity found in the Gospel.
This is a monumental victory for the pro-life movement, but more importantly for countless millions of our unborn neighbors. Today we celebrate and rejoice in the reversal of a historic injustice. And as God’s church, we also re-commit ourselves to the vital task of caring…
