@KirkEvans0 Brad is a very good golfer. But the difference between him (and many others) and pgatour pros is being able to perform under pressure. Playing well in the Internet invitational and trying to make it through q school for example is basically comparing two different sports.
I never met Charlie Kirk but I am gutted by this atrocity. Open debate is healthy and essential. Free speech is a constitutional right. Violence for disagreeing with someone is sick, deranged, and creates a greater division that becomes harder to overcome.
RIP Charlie Kirk. It doesn’t matter what your opinion is of Charlie or his politics if you don’t view this as one of the darkest days in American history than you are part of the problem.
Dear Policy Board,
First of all, I get it. Monday Qs don’t sell TV or tickets. And you saw your friends make more money and you wanted some of your own, so you shrank fields, made signature events, and got rid of a bunch of Mondays.
I wish it was different, I wish you wouldn’t have made some of the changes but with the power to enrich myself, I’m not sure I wouldn’t do the same.
But I hope all of you look at the Monday Q today and see what the stories that can come from them.
Jim Knous works full time as an engineer at Ping and he got thru.
Jason Dufner, a Major Champion who has struggled for years did too. Now he has a chance to win again.
Sangha Park went to a tiny DII school, was mentored by KJ Choi, went years not seeing his family back in South Korea to work on his golf. And today that sacrifice paid off.
And then there is Corey Pereira. His wife was just 28 years old when she passed away in June after a years long battle with cancer. He told me tonight that for months after her passing he didn’t have the energy to play golf, but has started to play more of late.
And today he shot 65. Got thru. I challenge you to find a better story then that.
Will those stories sell a bunch of tickets? Or help TV ratings? Nope, probably not.
But Mondays are a part of the history. And they have made up a small part of the whole picture of what has made the tour great.
I hope you consider that the next time you consider the future of the tour.
Thanks.

Hey Trent I know it’s not the actual John Deere classic but I’m playing in an APGA event at tpc Deere run the 14-17th of this month and wanted to know if you would caddie think it would be electric
This is the realistic side of professional golf
You don’t see on tv
Haven’t made a dime since January down 3,970$ on entry fees alone playing some bad golf but still chasing the dream
Johnson Wagner fired this bunker shot over the green and then Bryson appeared from the darkness carrying the U.S. Open trophy. Just an instinct for content creation. Then Johnson hit it to a foot. Breathtaking live TV
Brett McLamb played pro golf for over 3 years, never played a PGA Tour sanctioned event. Decided to stopped playing professionally and started his own landscaping business
He got his Am status back, but played the Mon Q this week because he lives on the course
He just got thru
🚨🗣️👀 #SOUNDING OFF — Lucas Glover blasts the PGA TOUR for its Signature Events. (Via @golfweek)
“I don’t like the idea at all… It’s selfish and it’s a money grab.”
“Nothing that has happened in the last two years in golf, in my opinion, that will help the game. I’ve yet to figure out what’s so bad out here that we had to do all the things we’ve done.”
“…We’ve got a bunch of millionaires running around driving three cars and eating really good food.”
“I just don’t see what was so bad out here that we had to do all this. Let’s raise some purses to make sure we keep some guys around but now we’ve eliminated a lot of playing opportunities for some really good players.”
“Why are the signature events 80 players and only 50 make the cut but our biggest signature event next week is 144 players with a full cut. THE signature event. It’s very mind-blowing that our biggest signature event has the most players and the biggest cut.”
