In South Africa, he may still have been brilliant, restless, and ambitious, but the environment would not have given him the same room to build SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, and everything else.

Talent matters. The country you build in decides how much of that talent can become real.

People talk about “The Economy” like it’s some giant machine in the sky that experts need to control. 

It’s not. The economy is just the sum of all the tiny trade decisions people make every day.

If a man sells a fish to a woman for a bag of rice, that is the economy.

When the government makes that trade difficult or expensive, the whole “machine” slows down. 

Ending poverty is mostly about making it easy for those two people to trade without someone else getting in the way.

Le 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 notifie aujourd'hui à EDF PULSE HOLDING sa lettre d’intention portant sur une offre indicative de rachat d'une partie des actions d’Exaion.

La Direction générale du Trésor est informée de cette initiative, tandis que l’offre américaine concurrente est examinée au titre du contrôle des investissements étrangers (IEF).

L'objectif est de proposer une alternative française et souveraine, pour bâtir, sous droit français, un pôle HPC, sans clause de non‑concurrence ni d’exclusivité limitant la liberté d’EDF et de ses filiales.

La ligne du Consortium est simple : ancrer cette capacité au sein d’EDF et en faire un avantage stratégique dans la concurrence mondiale.

« HPC » : l’ensemble des activités de calcul haute performance, notamment, sans s’y limiter, le minage de Bitcoin.

It lacks systems that allow them to do their magic.

Yes, you can train and invest money in 100,000 entrepreneurs…

But if the system blocks them, what’s the point?

In 2004, the rulers of Dubai did something brilliant that almost nobody talks about.

They created a small legal zone, just 110 acres.

Inside it, they didn’t use UAE law. They used English common law.

Aujourd'hui je suis avec @CaTawe aux Universités d'Été de l'Économie de Demain organisé par @Mouv_ImpactFr pour parler de Bitcoin, l'actif le plus ESG du monde.

Alors que la politisation de Bitcoin avance en France, il est crucial que les acteurs de l'écosystème "à impact & RSE s'emparent du sujet avant qu'un camp ne se l'approprie.

Au cours de son panel, Carole a évoqué de nombreux exemples : les problématiques de financement transfrontalier aux coûts rédhibitoires, les opportunités de développement énergétique grâce au minage, l'émancipation d'un système monétaire mondial qui fonctionne au dépens des pays émergents etc.

Pour le plus grand plaisir des participants, Carole a également amené avec elle des tablettes de chocolat issues du Parc des Virungas, en République Démocratique du Congo. Ces tablettes ont été financées grâce au minage de BBGS, et le cacao séché grâce à ce minage, qui en a décuplé la productivité.

Bitcoin est étonnamment absent des discussions sur l'économie de l'impact, alors qu'il permet d'avancer sur tous les Objectifs de Développement Durable (ODD).

But then we lost it all.
