1:1 C++ implementation of Terraria worldgen (output is identical)
Native = 4x faster
WASM = 3x faster (ignoring rendering overhead)
Multithreaded as well :)
@AtlyxMusic @sorrybecausei@XWineOne Oh, technically you can boot into the game yeah. But not necessarily playable beyond some tower stuff. Unsure about what nblock did
@ModernVintageG One important thing is that collateral damage wasn’t the first public retail kernel exploit. Also game dumping has been possible for 1-2+ years, just wasn’t shared publicly. Also there’s other translation layers, one is further ahead than XW1 (mainly now with dx stuff)
@Nighterlev@XWineOne Sorry for not responding sooner, I just saw this. There’s no public information available about it yet. The development is further ahead so it has support for more things
@HablaEspanolWey@Kingcat567898@XWineOne Yes but no. Game files are encrypted. You need to decrypt on console. Decryption requires the custom security processor/keys. You can absolutely copy the game xvc to your computer but it’s going to be encrypted
@Brad_R_Lee@XWineOne Essentially a negligible speed impact with the translation layer. You’re not emulating anything, there’s just some stuff that’s different and you’re fixing that or adding it back
@Brad_R_Lee@XWineOne Think of an emulator as translating Japanese and English.
Think about a translation layer as a two people speaking English but they have a slightly different vocabulary. Same language but they only understand 95% of the conversation. Add in the missing words and it’s perfect
