@qwweryo Combining a good diction software with a task/reading/thinking through a problem + AI evals is a great way to get clarity on how you think through problems too!
@CohenSite Used to do this a lot looking at capital project in cities CAFRs and then noting the length of the projects. This was pre AI but I imagine that can be almost fully in AI now if you wanted comps for adjacent cities outside LA.
@andrewlazar@TheStalwart Pensions are also paid into by new entrants. It is very hard for a pension system in a declining region to have enough new growth to help pay current obligations. Returns that create local durable growth (property tax, other private investment, etc….) could be a boon!
I’ve often thought pensions should have a non-trivial amount of investment geographically tied to their location. Calpens should invest in Cal, etc.. this seems like an banger idea for that!

@bobbyfijan Most states (NC I know for a fact) mandates large lots for schools, which is why it’s only older schools that tend to be in a walkable neighborhood rather than the newer schools at the periphery of the suburbs.
