3 key elements of progressive ed.:
1) Deep understanding of ideas; constructing meaning supersedes skill practice & fact memoriz;
2) Kids' questions & decisions drive the curriculum; tchr does more asking than telling;
3) Cooperative learning (student collaboratn) as the default

I am currently reflecting & wanted to share some things I have learned from teaching online at a PYP international school. I have had to teach through a screen for 18.5 weeks so far this year. The list is in no particular order & come after 4 online weeks with a new class.

#10. Lastly, I have reflected on being patient, calm & consistently positive during these times. We are in strange times and we all need to show care, balance, respect and an understanding that learning online is not fit for everyone. Ignite - Excite - Engage the best you can.
