Follow up: talked to the DGS this morning. I am between a rock and a hard place. When I asked about finding just any warm body to fill the seat, we went through everyone in the dept, and he said, “no. that is the only person who makes sense and fits. We need this person” 😭

So 4/5 of my diss committee members are ready to roll for my prospectus defense. I am 24 hours from having to change the date for a second time because I’ve been ghosted by an in-department committee member. I am embarrassed. I am having a melt down.
