@IzzyBoy97@m_bultman@WingedWheelPod The can still offer him more even with the QO. He's not obligated to accept the QO it just means Detroit retains his rights past July 1st in exchange for a guaranteed 1 year contract on the table
@sfthehippod@KnightsMuse_@PuckPedia True but no rush to extend him. And realistically there's at least a GM or two/owner who don't want the cloud hanging over his head around their team irregardless of the acquittal
@tmatthewshockey The problem is if you wait too long and other teams go "well we'll have to go with plan B" spending cap space and if via trade assets to aquire plan B. Because they still want and will need to address their needs. Less buyers, less bidding up the price
@realbeerguy69@karlstone6561@Senators@TSN1200 Brady had 22 goals this year (eklund had 15 but 53 points). But Eklund is younger. Plus Halttunen is a legit prospect who's 21 and had a solid first season in the AHL plus a flyer on a former 3rd round pick who's still young
@21husker@Cosmicneurons13 Hobey baker aside though OTHER prominent college players have also done it (Fox,justin schultz, cutter Gauthier, kevin hayes). Vessy and isssc Howard yes did.Does he have a lot of potential, I'd say yes
@21husker@Cosmicneurons13 Other Hobey Baker award winners have left the team's that drafted them. Plus he's going back to college for another year with his rights expiring after this season. I'm not saying he will leave but history says thd possibility is there
@Cosmicneurons13@21husker Definitely still a lot of uncertainty. Would prefer him out there over the likes of Compher Appleton etc. Some guys coming off the books, just be does he think other prospects also crowd him out and increase the odds he ends up in GR vs the NHL
@21husker@Cosmicneurons13 Under the assumption he signs andd doesn't do shat half of college players seem to do these days and go elsewhere in free agency the second their rights expire
@tpl_sports@SensBuzz You're also assuming NONE of those picks get flipped. You know like Florida literally did today getting 25 from Seattle just to send it to Ottawa
@BeyondXGoals@JCSportsDetroit It's deep with a lot of potential but there's an argument there's a lack of high ceiling guys. Alot of future NHL regulars sure potentially but also not high elite guys
@seank13@JCSportsDetroit And until Plante actually signs a contract there's the risk he does what other college prospects at times have done and walk to unrestricted free agency
