#Notice: 48 hours since our colleague Million Beyene disappeared without a trace.
Addis Abeba - Forty-eight hours after he was taken, the whereabouts of #Million_Beyene, Managing Editor of Addis Standard, remain unknown.
The #newsroom has learned that his phone was briefly active at around 10:00 p.m. last night before going silent again, raising further concern about his safety and condition.
His family and colleagues are enduring growing distress.
JAKENN Publishing PLC renews its urgent call for his safe and immediate return, and urges the relevant authorities, including the Addis Ababa Police and the Federal Police Commission, to act without delay to establish his whereabouts.
We also call on the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (#EHRC) to investigate this apparent enforced disappearance and ensure accountability.

I would also turn off location data for every app except those that absolutely require it (maps/transit apps), keep your location off by default. You’d be surprised how many apps insist on wanting your location and don’t need it *at all* to function.

I just conducted an unprompted, late night oversight visit at an ICE holding facility at the Mesa Gateway Airport with @RepGregStanton and @Rep_Grijalva. What we saw was shocking and sick.
Well over 240 detainees stacked like sardines in cells. People were sick and ICE was refusing medical care.
Here’s what happened.

MSF shares new data on sexual violence in Darfur, #Sudan
3,396 survivors treated between Jan 2024–Nov 2025.
732 in one month in Tawila, after the fall of El Fasher.
These are only the cases that reached care.
The massacre at El Fasher, arguably the worst since the Rwandan genocide, was enabled by the UAE, and the UK and US, which declined to do anything that could stop them, this new Guardian piece argues https://t.co/6hsNDV6bCP
🚨New Report🚨 @HRL_YaleSPH corroborates fire damage from a 21 March 2026 incidental fire in Al Umda IDP camp in Tawila, North Darfur through satellite imagery analysis. The fire reportedly displaced 971 households.
The scale of damage from incidental fires indicates that IDPs in Tawila do not have sufficient humanitarian aid or resources.
The majority of IDPs in Al Umda, Tawila fled RSF’s attack on Zamzam IDP Camp in April 2025.
