Ferguson et al. (2017) states the ‘new work smart’ approach equips students with skills that will promote an entrepreneurial mindset when problem solving. My unit of work allows these skills to be practiced to contribute to the development of informed global citizens. #UoNTeach
Noble (2004) talks about integrating Bloom’s Taxonomy with Gardiner's Multiple Intelligences to differentiate in the classroom. I can see how this would be an effective way to cater for a wide range of individual strengths and needs of all students (Noble, 2004). #UoNTeach
Twitter is a great tool for communication and collaboration (Carpenter & Krutka, 2014). Through Twitter, I have gained valuable knowledge and resources that have assisted the development of my unit of work. I believe I will continue to use this platform in the future.#UoNTeach

Technology can be seen as our greatest educational asset during this time. As travel restrictions are in place, Google Earth is an effective way students can explore the wonders of our world from home. I'll definitely be considering this for my project! #UoNTeach#GlobalEducation
With most travel plans now on hold indefinitely, it’s a great time to take advantage of the virtual travel opportunities of the internet! 🌍🌐 https://t.co/ZWQYqe2tcA
Here's a free webinar on recognising and responding to gifted and talented students! This is an opportunity to engage with research about recognising these students and how to effectively accommodate them in your classroom! #UoNTeach
Today is #EarthDay! Great opportunity to reinforce the importance of our climate and the rapid rate its changing. Encourage students to reflect on what they can do every day to ensure our planet has a sustainable future! #UoNTeach#ClimateChange
#EarthDay🌏 is coming up! This year we're all looking at the world from a different perspective, but let's not forget that #ClimateChange is still one of our greatest challenges.

#ChineseLanguageDay is a great way to acknowledge and deepen the respect for multilingualism and cultural diversity in Australia! This would help students gain an understanding of the language its self and the culture behind it. #UoNTeach#CulturalDiversity#GlobalEducation
Interesting article stating the concepts of knowledge behind curriculum, pedagogy and assessment need to be rethought as knowledge in the 21st century is changing. (Hipkins, Reid & Bull, 2010). Do you think profound global changes call for a change in education systems? #UoNTeach
Another one of my favourite children's books! I agree @morts_a, such a great resource to support belonging! It could also create conversations around sustainability and environmental change! #UoNTeach
To support the development of #Belonging in classrooms Jeannie Baker's book by the same name is a great intro and conversation starter on the topic. #UoNTeach https://t.co/TYAY8dNHtN
'I'm Australian Too' by Mem Fox is one of my favourite children's books! It’s a great way to educate students about multiculturalism and create inclusive environments. It is also easily integrated across the curriculum to create authentic learning! #UoNTeach#GlobalPerspectives
Having strong partnerships with families can provide valuable, authentic learning experiences. This is important when teaching and acknowledging cultural diversity, as well as promoting an inclusive environment in the classroom (Goodman & Hooks, 2016).#UoNTeach#CulturalDiversity
Dolan (2016), states place-based education plays an important role in connecting schools with the community by emphasising the role of teaching and learning in nearby places. This allows students to be engaged in the ecological and social wellbeing of their community. #UoNTeach
Linked in this article is a data base with a wealth of culturally diverse children's books! Each book is even linked to the Australian Curriculum. This is a great way to incorporate global education and awareness into the classroom. #UoNTeach#GlobalEducation#WeNeedDiverseBooks
A great article showing how #Covid19 can be used as an authentic learning tool! This gives students the opportunity to explore mathematics underpinning pandemics, learn science behind viral infections and look at ethical decision-making. Definitely worth having a look! #UoNTeach
Great resource! This would ensure students are only reading information from reliable and valid sources, which will assist them in becoming informed global citizens! #UoNTeach#GlobalEducation#FakeNews
