@AliWrightObGyn@JanePlumb@RCObsGyn Please address the ‘challenges’ faced by #hysteroscopy patients.
Inadequate patient information.
Lack of effective pain management options.
Pain and long-term trauma as a result (1/3 women).
Please commit to addressing these patient concerns.
Thank you.
@AliWrightObGyn@JanePlumb@RCObsGyn Agree entirely, but patient advocacy groups seen as “barriers” and barred from best practice conferences whilst device manufacturers welcomed wholeheartedly. Something very wrong in that. Women patients are not deemed reliable witnesses to what they experience in their own bodies
@myobstetrician@DrGailBusby I'm pleased to hear that this is being discussed. Did this discussion lead to any change in the way future #hysteroscopies will be performed? #Women have suffered horrendous #pain for too long. 'Vocal local' just doesn't cut it! It's discriminative treatment.
@myobstetrician@DrGailBusby Vocal local is not effective when you recieve the most unimaginable pain during OPH. liken it to open fracture pain & you pass out. Following OPH I actually find vocal local extremely demeaning and annoying. Oscopies do have sedation but WOMEN are expected to suffer this.
@myobstetrician@DrGailBusby Thank you! @LiverpoolWomens 2024 - Why was this rape victim tortured in a Liverpool OPH clinic?
"Nothing was ready, I asked for gas & air & it wasn't set up, & I cried & begged for them to stop the procedure but they didn't, even with prior knowledge of my history of abuse."
@clarky_on@RaneeThakar Why not pain free? Shame on you in this day and age that women still have to suffer with these painfull procedures. Unacceptable!!!
@RaneeThakar I think this one’s for you to answer my outpatient #hysteroscopy pain was off the scale.
I describe it was like being tasered in my cervix so reducing that pain a little ain’t going to help. Let’s hope that the new GTG will be good before you sign them off.
