@FibroidNetwork@clarky_on@TheBSGE The Campaign Against Painful Hysteroscopy is funded solely by its members.
We're a grassroots, national, Community Interest Group determined all hysteroscopy patients have informed choice of safe, timely, effective anaesthesia according to their medical needs & preferences.
After denying me #InformedConsent and causing devastating permanent sexual dysfunction. During my complaint, my hip surgeon gloated that intimate crush and nerve injury was a known risk. He called it 'misfortunate' and stated he would 'consider' warning future patients.

This is so true. Nothing has really changed in how endometrial cancer is treated since my diagnosis back in 2014. The fertility sparing treatment options which aren’t guaranteed to work are basically the same and a hysterectomy is still the gold standard which can save your life, but at the expense of your ability to have children. We need better treatments and better yet a cure that doesn’t require life changing surgery.
@DrJoFranklin 💯 If a woman is referred under the Rapid Access pathway (or whatever it’s called now) she can’t choose where she goes. But, once she gets there, there’s nothing to stop her asking to be referred to a hospital where she can get what she wants, eg WID-easy, GA, RA, sedation etc
@DrJoFranklin Thanks Jo. Yes it seems to be offered alongside.
I wonder what they’d do though if a woman said she’d consent only to the WID-easy test and not to any other test until the result came back? That’s what I’d do
@valhumphreys51 https://t.co/SJ9H0I3mvB also St Richards, Worthing & Southlands hospitals.
Caveat is, that WID-easy is being studied alongside current invasive Ix not in place of as far as I can see, at mo.
For any women who are able to get to St George’s Hospital, please see attached leaflet. I understand it is also offered at four other hospitals in London: UCLH, Barnet, North Middx and the Royal Free. So pls speak up and ask for it.
This is some good news!
A few weeks ago I wrote to the DHSC to ask when the WID-easy test for uterine cancer would be available thru the NHS. It is a PCR-type test, used in Europe, and available thru private clinics in the UK, which could reduce the number of invasive hysteroscopies and endometrial

@TheBSGE A nurse hysteroscopist attempted to carry out my failed OP #hysteroscopy. It was the most brutal experience. To this day, I have flashbacks & nightmares. Let's hope this session includes vital information on adequate pain-relief as it is seriously lacking in most clinics.
@TheBSGE Please are you able to comment on this recent OPH told to our survey? Would the OPH have been performed by a Nurse Hysteroscopist? Are nurse hysteroscopists able to give local anaesthetic? Are you able to refer anxious patients for hysteroscopy under GA? Thank you! @CHFTNHS
Thrilled & honoured to be invited by @BSGE to speak at ASM26 with the excellent Caroline Bell about 'Making Hysteroscopy Comfortable' a topic I'm passionate about.
Excited to discuss good pain relief for hysteroscopy & how we can make this procedure a better experience for women
@DrGailBusby@bsge Be nice if she unblocked us all as well no nasty words were ever spoken she just been for training up Bradford and we think we were mentioned
@DrGailBusby@bsge Well done Dr Busby! It's high time the harrowing experiences of Trial by Outpatient Hysteroscopy without anaesthesia ended. Let's hope Prof Justin Clark @BWH_NHS has persuaded his ICB's Commissioning Lead to read the GIRFT addendum about allowing women to choose GA or sedation.
@DrGailBusby@bsge This is such good news! You started with an idea, put it into practice, and people are listening. You have achieved so much in a relatively short space of time. Well done from everyone who has suffered a painful OPH on behalf of all future patients. Change is coming. Thank you!
