@Hess_H_H@isaacfloyd13 It's not as simple as that. There are many reasons people move overseas, often without speaking the language. Could be work (or their partner's work), sometimes at short notice. Efforts should be made to learn as best as you can, but it's not always so black and white.
If people today were named after their occupations, it would hit kinda different.
Our surnames would be things like Papershuffler, Buttonpusher and Videosmith.
If you're lucky you get a cool one like Firequencher or Weatherpredictor lol
@noplaceforsheep@sussanley When I was 11 years old a classmate teased me for crying at the funeral of a young boy from school. That's the level of maturity she is showing here.
Rage only leads to more rage. This vitriol needs to stop.
@ilda_talk@katherine_deves Some Christian churches and missionaries were partly responsible for the stolen generation in Australia. This has been acknowledged by churches.

There are many more examples throughout history. The Crusades. The Inquisition. Colonial Africa. Etc
@Snarky_gnome@moorenz80@AvidCommentator I appreciate authenticity too. However there are too many deeply flawed politicians right now. Including some verrry powerful ones. IMO the people that uphold the values of a land should be held to a higher standard.
@Snarky_gnome@moorenz80@AvidCommentator Perhaps you're right. I was thinking about that too.
To threaten someone like that though is not cool. It's not the 1950's any more. Most Australians have moved on from beating up people who say things they don't like.
@Snarky_gnome@moorenz80@AvidCommentator He didn't let the journalist finish. He jumped to an outrageous conclusion without giving the bloke a fair crack at it. He's the one being un-Australian here.
@charliekirk11@NFL Golden Tate danced into the chat. Along with Justin Timberlake. And every touchdown celebration ever.
Men dancing at the football is not the issue here.

@higgyboson One of my school teachers didn't wear a hat. He died early from skin cancer.
The world has changed in the last 50 years. This POV belongs in 1976.
