CA State Lifeguards and rangers are assisting fire fighting efforts in several locations in N CA. Lifeguards are working with fire fighting personnel and law enforcement as boat operators, deck hands, emergency medical providers and by completing other mission critical tasks.

Malcolm was 20-years old and was in his fifth summer as a California State Parks seasonal lifeguard. Our thoughts and prayers are with Malcolm’s family, the Half Moon Bay community, our lifeguard family, and the first responders that worked so hard to save him.

With heavy hearts, California State Lifeguards share the tragic news that one of our own has passed away. Half Moon Bay Seasonal Lifeguard, Malcolm Feix, died while surfing off-duty at Pomponio State Beach in San Mateo County on Sunday afternoon, July 22, 2018.
