I had the honor and privilege to attend the grand finale of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration, NADCEL 2024, held at the Headquarters, 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos, Plateau State. The theme, "Transforming the Nigerian Army: Imperative for Combating Contemporary Security Challenges within a Joint Environment," resonates deeply.
I commend the Nigerian Army for choosing Plateau State as the venue for this significant event. It reflects their unwavering commitment to peace and security. Amidst past hostilities, they now provide a peaceful atmosphere for citizens to conduct their legitimate businesses.
The collaboration and synergy among various security agencies are commendable. Together, they work tirelessly for the peace and unity of our state. Let us continue with a sincere and holistic approach to sustain the current peace on the Plateau.
Transparency is the cornerstone of my administration.
We believe that an open government is key to building trust and ensuring accountability. This administration is committed to maintaining clear and honest communication with you, , and providing regular updates on our progress.
Our vision for Plateau State is one of progress and prosperity for all. We are actively working on numerous developmental projects that aim to improve infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agriculture.
To achieve these goals, we are forming strong partnerships with both local and international stakeholders. These collaborations are crucial in bringing innovation, investment, and expertise to our state.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to making Plateau State a beacon of development and good governance.
I had the honor of receiving the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, during his courtesy visit to the New Government House in Little Rayfield, Jos. The Chief of Army Staff was in Jos for the 2024 Nigerian Army Day Celebration.
I reaffirm my administration's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to effectively fulfill their constitutional duties of ensuring peace and security in our state.
I commend the courage and determination of the Nigerian Army personnel who have made significant sacrifices to keep Nigeria united.
We are pleased that you selected Plateau State for this year’s Army Day celebrations. It is an honor for us and a sign of the confidence you have in Plateau State, recognizing our significant progress over the past year.
This is not surprising. I recall the nationwide celebration when the Chief of Army Staff and other Service Chiefs were appointed last year. This was not only because our security architecture was being restructured to reflect our country’s federal character but also because exceptionally competent officers were chosen.
I am confident that Mr. President’s faith in you has been well-placed, and the Nigerian people are also pleased with your distinguished service as Chief of Army Staff since the inception of this administration.
As the saying goes, “A tree is known by its fruit.” Your dedication and hard work have brought forth the fruits of peace and security, for which we are all grateful.
