The GAA extends its sympathies and those of its wider membership to the family of Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh following confirmation of his passing today. Solas na bhFlaitheas ar a anam uasal. #GAABelong
Met Ciarán McLaughlin first in his role as Strabane U14 manager many moons ago.
He has worn a lot of hats since. Had a chat with him about his role in World GAA.

Anocht is Uaigneach Tir Eoghain - Sean Harte RIP
The death of Sean Harte has taken from us another of our County’s most significant and effective GAA figures of the past half-century.
Although Sean spent virtually all of that half-century in Canada, his was a stellar case of ‘the man maybe leaving Tyrone, but Tyrone never leaving the man.’
A Tyrone Minor Champion with Carrickmore in 1972, Sean was a founder member the following year of the new Loughmacrory St Teresa’s Club, including lining out for them in their first ever competitive match.
Emigration soon took him to Toronto in Canada, where he went on to create indelible GAA and business legacies. All the while however, Tyrone remained central for Sean, as did all his links home to one of Tyrone’s strongest Gaelic families and communities. A founder-member of Club Tyrone, his support for our County, so often in the form of flying home for games, but in many other ways too, was unrelenting.
Our deepest sympathy goes to Noelle, Justin and Catherine, to his wider family circle, to his so many friends and colleagues, and to the Gaels of Loughmacrory, Toronto and Canada.
‘I measc Naomh na hÉireann agus Laochra na nGael go raibh a anam dílis | May his noble soul be among the Saints of Ireland and the Heroes of the Gael.’
