BC’s mining sector is entering a period of major growth, but meeting future demand will require thousands of skilled workers across critical occupations like equipment operators, mechanics, electricians, geoscientists, engineers, and truck drivers. 👷👷♀️
New research released by MABC and the Centre for Training Excellence in Mining (CTEM) and @MiHRCouncil shows BC’s mining workforce could grow by between 5,000 and 12,000 workers over the next decade, driven by proposed new and expanding mining projects across the province. The report also highlights the need for stronger training pathways and workforce development to help fill the gap.

Ralph Klein said no to separation.
Because he knew that we are able to resolve things better, together as a united group of Canadians fighting for a better world.

I'm pleased to join this group of Albertans in launching Lead not Leave. The status quo is not the sole alternative to secession and even the risk of secession will have significant consequences for our province and our country. We must firmly say that Canada includes Alberta.
“Dragging Alberta through a debate to hold a vote about whether to hold a vote is ridiculous,” Calgary mayor Jeromy Farkas responds to Premier’s address last night.
Well, we're off to the races.
I am among the proud Albertans and Canadians behind https://t.co/s9FtuuM8zK.
We are going to work relentlessly, every day, to ensure Alberta remains strong and prosperous within a united Canada.
We are eager to share more with you all in the coming days and weeks. For now, click the link below. 👇
This is the most important, most brilliant, and most well written thing you could read today.
If you’re an Albertan, or a Canadian, and read nothing else, fine. Just read this.

A strong reminder that mining’s impact in BC extends far beyond mine sites.
As highlighted in this @VancouverSun article, the mining sector plays a critical role in supporting jobs, businesses, and economic activity in urban centres like Vancouver—through a vast network of suppliers, services, and expertise.
MABC President & CEO @goehring_m notes that mining is increasingly a key driver of economic activity across the province, with benefits that reach communities well beyond where mines are located.
From engineering and finance to environmental services and technology, mining continues to support a diverse and growing ecosystem that contributes to BC’s economic resilience.

This is the blocker to Canada becoming a critical minerals powerhouse:
"The report noted that gaps in capital funding have “stunted” the growth of Canada’s critical minerals mining industry".
The 2025 @liberal_party platform had the solve: "expanding eligible activities under the Canadian Exploration Expense to include the costs of technical studies, such as engineering, economic and feasibility studies".
Keep the promise, unlock capital and let's build!

These same people wonder why it’s so hard to recruit competent people to run public sector organizations.
You. You are the reason. Including shit posting like this.

"What this means is that if you are an Albertan voter who is a staunch federalist and you are looking for a party that is both supportive of the energy sector and also free of internal divides over separation, the Liberals are increasingly a viable option in the Carney era."
