- End the call without explanation if it appears suspicious or to be a scam
- Contact BCE directly to inquire if an investigation is being conducted
**ATTENTION LICENSEES** Beware of fraud schemes targeting licensed DCs and other health professionals in California.
Individuals are falsely identifying themselves as BCE employees and are using publicly available information to contact licensees by phone, letter, or fax.
These individuals may claim that the licensee is under investigation, warn the licensee not to report the call to anyone, and attempt to demand payment or gather personal or financial information. Callers may also be spoofing telephone numbers to make the calls appear legitimate.
