@Ilias_Soledad@cornu__copia This was my thought. If this was the US/EU etc & if there was a similar backlash the government(s) would’ve issued 15 million men visas that have fake credentials that would be used to work at the local fast food joint and to import 82 of their family members.
@Hank_Krill@LadiesOfReddit Unfortunately GenX/Millenial/Zoomers hicklibs think this but grandpop was a union man to keep them “others” out so wages stayed high 😂
@mopaksus@Empty_America A new 6.7 High output in an F350 makes around the same or more than a new semi. Obviously torque, gears etc are much more heavy duty in the semi but still nuts.
@ArtBeatriz@MphKarl@I46O0@Empty_America It, along with all of Spain and Portugals holdings were incredibly dysfunctional which can still be seen today in the difference between the US/Canada and anything south of the Rio Grande.
@JohnNorthernCa@LocumRex@ivins_chri91833@Ford Well ya, when a diesel engine doesn’t have enough nuts to get out of its own way it’ll last forever. Same reason the old 6.9IDI was so great, couldn’t hurt itself.
@Porkchop_EXP@wylfcen I’d rather do laundry everyday for 4 people with a modern washing machine than laundry once a week for a family of 9 by hand.
The “laundry is hard” group are not serious people.
@MphKarl@I46O0@Empty_America Mexico has been dysfunctional since it was a Spanish Colony. The drug trade just made its worst people very wealthy and influential.
@strike978@Empty_America Ah yes, creating the most efficient meat grinders the world has ever seen is the same as low level (IQ) murdering over muh beef and muh block.
You could’ve pointed to the Scots-Irish inclination to this behaviour (see Appalachia).
@cornu__copia This reminds of me when Pentti Linkola wrote about the food hygiene craze that came to Finland from west Europe + the USA that was totally ludicrous.
@smallyew@CamoDiver@TerraAustralisF@UBERSOY1 Eh, in the US there’s still correlation between ones demographic and ability to swim when accounting for income/location etc etc. But I’d wager in most of these other nations this would hold some weight to the oddly low %’s.
@SphereNX@andrewkrok On a basic trim half tonne? If you put 5-10% down on 72 months it’s under 700, which is still INSANE for a basic half tonne truck!
