So glad that God don’t just up and leave because He ain’t feeling me anymore.. or because I made a mistake.. or because I’m still healing… I’m so glad that God walks with me in spite of my trauma, in spite of my struggles, in spite of my mistakes..
Healing can take a lifetime. You don’t have to wait to be fully healed to be loved. We learn/grow everyday. Go into your next relationship with honesty. Be able to tell your partner your faults/trauma so they are able understand how to handle/love you through them.
Hardest pill to swallow is realizing people do not care. They will hurt you and go on with their lives, not even slightly affected by what they did or how you feel, whether it’s friendships, relationships, or family.
I learned to let go when I realised that an avoidant’s shutdown wasn’t just act of detachment, it was an internal war between their desire & self preservation. Fear is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s fear of losing their selfhood in love.
the best thing a therapist ever told me is “you’re not lazy, you only have a certain amount of energy and right now you’re using it all to survive” and i know someone else needs to hear that too
ngl having people that love you is one thing. But having people who still love you when you’re a burden, when things are a mess, when you’re in the wrong…those are your people. to truly be loved is to still be loved when it’s inconvenient to love you.
