What Jack Smith did with Twitter is outrageous.
The Trump administration had previously provided all Twitter records to NARA using 'ArchiveSocial' - the same tool Obama had used prior. Jack Smith didn't go to NARA for the records, because Gary Stern (NARA General Council) told the Special Council that he'd need to notify Trump of the request of those records, as they are currently non-public.
They wanted to keep it secret, which is why they went directly to Twitter. @elonmusk and @X contested the gag order against them violated their rights, in addition to being facially invalid, as Donald Trump isn't a flight risk.
The scope of requested information was huge. For example, "all lists of Twitter users who have favorited or retweeted tweets posted by the account, as well as all tweets that include the username associated with the account."
Meaning Jack Smith's special council wanted a list of every user who ever replied or tweeted to @realDonaldTrump
Unsurprisingly, the judge was none other than Beryl A Howell. Chief Judge in the Mueller Investigation, who stepped down from the DC U.S. District Court in March, handing Jack Smith's case over to another Obama appointed Judge James Boasberg.
Before leaving, she dropped a Comey-esque parting gift of releasing Evan Corcoran's attorney-client notes to the Department of Justice, which 'essentially gave prosecutors a road map to building their case' according to the NYTimes.

@atmoio Experience and judgement matters more than ever, I’m finding in actual implementation of tools. I deal with this everyday, and the differentiator is translating needs and process into function, which requires experience in user adoption and ‘taste’.
Republicans, Democrats, and unaffiliated voters…. Can’t we all admit that Maine is headed in the wrong direction? I am a Navy veteran, a former federal investigator, and as Governor I’ll cut your taxes and end the needle giveaways.
Why is @ScottJenningsKY working with @AARP who helped pushed the inflation reduction act thereby ballooning insurance premiums? AARP doesn’t have the answers they’re part of the problem, ‘folks’
Mackinac Island may be a treasured institution to many Michiganders, but not to Abdul El-Sayed.
“I hate Mackinac so much,” he said in a 2020 documentary about himself.
“…every time I’ve ever come here, I’ve hated it. Why am I here?”
I tried to use Opus 5 all day today. Much code was written, many questions asked, yet almost nothing was accomplished. I would not recommend Opus 5 even being used in a real business environment, it's that 'off'. It spent more time testing false premises and identifying out of scope and tangential threads than doing anything of substance. It feels like an actual regression of months, maybe pre-4.6. Anyone else experience this?
mac mini running tmux, one session per project. first window is orchestrator, 5 other scoped role agents in panels. ipad, iphone, laptop on tailscale to make sure everything is moving along through each project manager. fable 5 orchestrating, kimi front-end, opus implementation, factory droid auto-model on testing. it has been working well
it’s in gemini, just create it in ai studio. oh, that’s for your personal google one account. for workspace you need gemini business. no, not gemini advanced, that’s ai pro now. unless you need ai ultra. oh agents? you do that in spark actually. no, not gemini api managed agents, that’s different. for coding use jules. unless you mean the agentic ide, that’s antigravity. no, that’s the old antigravity, download the new one. actually gemini cli is being deprecated, use antigravity cli. no the flash model is smarter than the pro model. unless you need pro. if it’s video, use flow. no, flow uses veo. no, nano banana is images. actually that’s in gemini now. unless you’re in search, then it’s ai mode. no, research is notebooklm. anyway it’s all very simple.
To any future historians reading this, this era will make a lot more sense if you remember that every name is the opposite of what it really is. The antifascists are fascists, the antiracists are racists, the fact-checkers are propagandists, etc. Hopefully this has been fixed by your time.
🚨 AMAC members are speaking out about how the Working Families Tax Cuts are putting more money back in their pockets.
@PressSec: "We’re already hearing from everyday Americans across the country who are reporting substantial tax savings thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts... AMAC, which represents millions of Americans, heard directly from more than 1,000 of their members already about how the Trump tax cuts are easing cost-of-living concerns and providing real breathing room in their budgets."
WATCH for real feedback from AMAC members & everyday Americans on how they're benefitting from the Trump tax cuts. 👇
AI coding is going to change the traditional EPD roles in the following ways. Think of a spectrum: on one end you have the PM who does nothing but translate business needs into product requirements, works with the designer to craft the UX, and hands of tickets to engineers. They have zero technical abilities, but are good at understanding the business needs and translating into reqs. In the old world, there was value here.
On the other end, you have code monkeys. They have zero business sense, UX sense, but are great at taking a ticket and writing the code, and saying: next please. Again, there used to be value here.
Both ends of the spectrum are dead now. Enter the generalist "builder" that can reason about business value, product requirements, has design sense, can build full stack, and can follow a feature through a prod release and measuring the impact on the business.
This kind of generalist used to be a unicorn because of the significant SME need. Someone who can write decent UI code, backend code/distributed systems, dev ops, AND can do design, AND understands the business? Damn. But now, any good generalist that can use AI tools to deliver a full stack feature, with all the deep complexities of each type of engineering, and with a deep connection to how those features push the business forward are the ones who will thrive in this new world.
My #1 piece of advice for anyone in product, design, or engineering: be a generalist. Learn the AI tools to be competent in all 3 areas and stop thinking of yourself as a PM, a designer, or an engineer. Learn autonomy and E2E ownership. You're a builder now. Otherwise you're ngmi.
