Whoever wrote, this must have never owned a home. I have always preferred contractors that come highly recommended from trusted sources, have a reputation for getting the job done right, and that I simply feel the most comfortable with. The notion that you should always go with the lowest bid is why so many government projects are horribly executed. The absolute cost is only one of many factors to be considered.

@father_rmv I'm reading a book on the early Church and they had the same discussions/disagreements nearly 2000 years ago! And they came to the same conclusion as Msgr. Kevane. We are blessed to have such a rich history...we just need to keep it in mind.
