Even beyond the fear of the acts of the man, what scares me most is a cloud of myopic countrymen in the comments section cheering him on. That's the saddest part of all this.
The regime's 7-step-guide to silencing anyone who speaks against it.
Step 1 - Abduct said person
Step 2 - Torture them for days/weeks in a secret location
Step 3 - Drop them off at CPS Kla, Masaka or some other Police station
Step 4 - Have them now formally 'arrested' & arraigned in court on trumped-up charges
Step 5 - Remand them & frustrate any attempts for them to secure bail
Step 6 - Keep them in Prison for days, weeks, months & years
Step 7 - Identify another regime opponent & repeat procedure!
One day we shall be free from this inhumanity.

“If you take the deal, you’re going to be exploited. If you don’t take it, you’re going to die,” said attorney Frank Ssekamwa about the U.S. demand to access the health data of millions of Ugandans. “It’s the essence of digital colonialism.”

The Iranian football team is only allowed to arrive in the US 24 hours before their matches and required to leave shortly after — despite all their matches being played in the US.
Imagine if this had happened to a North American or European team. There would be outrage. But in this situation, FIFA simply shrugs.
FIFA is a pathetic excuse for an international football organisation.
Today we remember Roger Ebert on what would have been his 84th birthday.
A compassionate, insightful film critic — and a true Chicagoan.
We miss you, Roger!
Habibi, Erias Lukwago has been charged with “misprision of treason”. In layman’s language, the state claims that Lukwago knew of @kizzabesigye1 intentions to commit treason but did not report him. This is a very dangerous road the state has taken! Let me explain.
First, Lukwago is NOT the first. Last year, PFF supporter & Besigye confidant @MakokhaMugeni was arrested and charged for the same offence. He's been in jail on pretrial remand since then. The case hasn't progressed, but he can't get bail either. The state can only claim that this is a serious offence.
Two, using the same charge, the state can now pick anyone associated with Besigye: PFF officials, supporters, legal team, even family, and lock them up. Remember the state doesn't have to prove that they committed treason, it just has to claim they were in a position where they should have had knowledge of Besigye’s intentions but didn't report.
Depending on how this case plays out, it could soon be used against other opposition figures, journalists, civil society leaders, and other critics of the regime. Pick a person, then make anyone close to them guilty by association using misprision of treason!
In the hands of a state desperate to lock up as many critics as possible, this charge is like a magic wand. It is very effective, and comes with endless possibilities. To the critics of a regime that engages in lawfare, this charge is like the equivalent of a nuclear bomb!
