Science in Ag. There is huge variation between animals, including in methane emissions. Such variation is the science of opportunity. Genotyping is rocket fuel for breeding programmes. The announcement of funding today is a major boost on the road to genotyping the national herd.

Science in Agr. Almost Identical cattle can have significantly different methane emissions. Research from the DAFM funded GREENBREED project has identified. Today this work translated into practical breeding information for farmers showing science in action in Irish Agri sector.

They also will cross report to DAFM for application of penalty under farm payments. This type of application is banned for over a decade at least.
