This is NOT an #AsianHornet! Itβs not even a #hornet! Itβs a beautiful harmless #hoverfly. An important #pollinator. It doesnβt sting! Itβs not a #wasp! no need to panic! Insects are a vital in the food chain. They are not pests! This beautiful creature is a Pal not a pest.
There's a fair amount of 'wasp-news' around - some positive (@AlysFowler@guardian), some negative (@WalesOnline). I'm delighted wasps are getting air time. But frustrated at the misinformation. I've written a lot about wasps - pls share these rather than these..
A thread.

What does #Pride mean to you? π±π
@BritishEcolSoc Pride for me is about allowing people to feel safe being who they are with no judgements, raising awareness to challenges faces by our community and also highlighting the beautiful people and diversity within the LGBTQ+ community. Happy Pride! ππ³οΈββ§οΈπ³οΈβπ
