I feel like I have to repeat myself a lot in DMs when people ask about @CalmCompanies, but you don't have to pay for the annual sub if you want to skim through roles or apply for a job. Just go into your preferred company page, hit the "Careers" page button in the top-right corner and apply to the job you seek.

The sub is there to save you time of going through each company's careers page and be able to easily surface you 🆕 job openings for your expertise/department/category. Simple as that.

🆕 Added the ability for subscribers to get only newly added job openings emails. So when there are no newly added jobs throughout the week, there will be no email sent out. You can toggle this setting on/off from the /subscriber dashboard.

For people who don't know what Calm Companies is, it's a curated list of companies (by yours truly) that have a great work-culture. Most of them are in the tech industry, hire remote globally, have few or no meetings, pay well, or simply put, don't chase the "growth-at-all-cost" mentality.

Back in December 2025 I threw up a landing page + a Stripe payment link, and announced Calm Companies into the void.

I had super low expectations. Would anyone actually pay for a curated list of jobs at companies with a great work culture when there are tons of job boards out there where you can get listings for free?

Turns out, yeah. Quite a handful of people do.

Fast forward to today. I've gathered 10 testimonials from subscribers, and reading through this "wall of love" hits different. It's the boost I need to keep going. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write these ❤️

The list grew from 25 companies to 60+. I started writing articles. Every week I tweak something. Spot a bug, fix it. Get feedback, incorporate it if it makes sense.

With all this added value, I raised the price for new subscribers: $5 → $19/yr for weekly digests.

People can still browse the directory for free and apply directly through the company career pages I'm linking. But the weekly digest saves you time:
- see job details (location, salary, application instructions, direct URLs)
- see what's new compared to last week (🆕)
- see which jobs are expiring soon (⏰)
+ a few other QoL improvements coming soon
