📚✏️ Our Miami Lighthouse Academy preschool is open for enrollment for children who are sighted 𝘢𝘯𝘥 those with any visual impairment, ages 1-4!
While the State of Florida's rule is that VPK providers must offer a minimum of 3 hours of VPK, at Miami Lighthouse Academy we go above and beyond for our students, providing a 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐝𝐚𝐲 from 8:35am to 2:05pm.
Miami Lighthouse Academy follows the HighScope Curriculum, a play-based, child-centered approach to early childhood education that emphasizes active learning.
All of our Academy classes, from toddlers to third grade, have Florida Certified classroom teachers as well as certified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI's).
Our school is a Florida Gold Seal and nationally Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment, an "Apple Accredited" inclusive early learning program.
🍎 Our Academy's VPK enrolls children who are sighted and those with visual impairments, and our Academy's Kindergarten and 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Grade classes enroll students who are visually impaired.

🦁🏆 At the last Lions for the Blind meeting, the Miami Lighthouse honored Lion Alan Campbell for his tireless work to support and empower those who are blind and visually impaired, embodying the core values of Lionism.
Lion Alan has played pivotal roles for Miami Lighthouse as the former Project Manager for the Lions Clubs International Sight for Kids Project, as past President of the Miami Lions Club and Miami Lions Club Foundation, and as the last Director of the Lions Home for the Blind.

A field trip to remember! Together, the Miami Marlins, Major League Baseball, and CBS News Miami Correspondent Cristian Benavides enabled our Pre-Employment Transition Program blind teenagers to have the rare sensory experience of the game of baseball. From being able to touch the grass, to the leather gloves, to hearing the click of the bat; one can be assured that our students will continue to enjoy baseball by listening to games on the radio! ⚾💙
