As a Marine Engineer there is little that excites me more than a reciprocating engine; Diesel, Petrol, LPG, LNG, 4 stroke or 2 stroke!
Well that is until now @propellerists. Please allow me to introduce. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
A group of kids taking part in an initiative led by Isle of Man Maritime are learning invaluable skills according to the General Manager of Isle of Man Maritime.
Twelve teenagers, aged 14-17, are currently onboard the tall ship Leader. https://t.co/pkB1zHdflC

It’s time to reflect on the past week. As I wake up and my brain isn't whizzing at 6am with 101 things to do, it was nice to sit and reflect over coffee.
Two major maritime events took place on Friday and Saturday, each designed to highlight the Isle of Man Maritime sector and showcase how much it has to offer, while also demonstrating that we are a maritime center of excellence and powerhouse.
I cannot thank everyone enough for coming to the island and being part of our inaugural conference and third maritime expo. These events were challenging, but I could not have done it without my board's support, and special thanks to Lesley-Anne Walker MCIM and Nathan Rogers for keeping me grounded and sane.
There are too many people to thank individually, but please know I am incredibly grateful for all the help and support.
As I relax, and am reminded by Dick Welsh, MBE to breathe, I feel fortunate to have the trust of Isle of Man Maritime and the privilege of being the General Manager of this amazing maritime cluster.
I am deeply concerned that the 16 crew members of the Prestige Falcon, which capsized on 15 July off the coast of Oman, are still unaccounted for. I would like to thank all authorities involved in the search and rescue operations, for their efforts.
