“I think the 4 years were everything I could have asked for. Everything I could have imagined.”
- Penn-Trafford’s Cam Ponko reflects back on her career after the Warriors won the PIAA 5A title at Penn State’s Beard Field.
Here’s Penn-Trafford’s star senior third baseman Cam Ponko after punctuating her stellar high school career by leading the Warriors to their second state title in school history.
Ponko went 1 for 3 with a double in a 2-0 win against Greencastle-Antrim in the PIAA Class 5A final:
FINAL SCORE: Penn-Trafford 7, North Hills 0.
Allyson Paulone loses her no-hitter in the top of the seventh, but she fires a one-hit shutout to lead the Warriors to the WPIAL Class 5A title game. Star senior Cam Ponko goes 2 for 3 with an RBI and the game-clinching putout:
Hear from our Player of the Game, Penn-Trafford third baseman Cam Ponko, after the star senior went 2 for 3 with an RBI, a run scored, a stolen base and a handful of textbook putouts at the hot corner, powering P-T to a 7-0 win over North Hills in the WPIAL Class 5A semifinals:
Penn-Trafford (10-1) has won 10 in a row. Warriors hit four home runs during an 11-run fourth inning.
They have slayed the dragon in their nemesis Armstrong.
This team is running roughshod over all comers.
