It's also worth noting that this would make Iran the third richest country in the Gulf region after the UAE, with a nearly equivalent level of GDP. Much of this increase will likely go into a weapons-buying spree, which I expect China will be eager to supply. In short, Trump has likely ensured that Iran will have the most powerful military in the Gulf within 5-10 years.
