What arivis doesn’t give me: sales targets, commission, instructions on what to tweet.
What I do get: the opportunity to work with incredibly clever people (clients & colleagues), the ability to solve almost any image analysis problems on virtually any images of any size.
@Avis I’m hope one day AI assistants will be capable enough to do basic customer service, but that day is clearly not today. Please stop asking me to provide the same piece of information 3 or more times and just have a human read the actual emails.
What does it feel like to be wrong?
Not to *find out* that you’re wrong, but to actually *BE* wrong?
It feels exactly like *being right*. That’s why it’s so important to constantly question your beliefs and assumptions.
I’ve had lots of people asking me how it is that arivis managed to process huge images where other softwares struggle. I wrote this article to try and explain why processing big datasets can be an issue and what strategies arivis uses to overcome that. https://t.co/JfAOJnHnnE
Once again, what a great time we had at @AarhusUni_int@DBioimaging really well organised workshop. And great to be able to show how well we can work with our various patterns, both in the microscopy side and data processing infrastructure.
@thatguybg There’s a reason human civilisation really started with writing. It’s really easy to work on flat surfaces. And we’ve got really good at scanning through text in a way that is much harder to simplify with audio and video.
On Tuesday I’ll be talking about AI in IA, what you should know, and what you should and shouldn’t worry about if you’re thinking about adding machine learning and deep learning to your image analysis workflow.

Talking to a potential new user at #MiFoBio2023 when another user butts into my spiel to say “the best thing about arivis compared to *redacted software name*, is that it never crashes”.
Thanks I guess…
@JuliusCezarrrr @jburnmurdoch Also, the point about the market is exactly the point the author was making. The US send the same proportion of the population to higher education, they study generally the same kind of things, yet have barely different outcomes.
@JuliusCezarrrr @jburnmurdoch There is also a rest of the world comparison, which includes other countries with strict employment laws like the UK but don’t have the same proportional loss of graduate advantage. That was in the thread. So where’s your data to back up your assertion?
