The Smokefree cars legislation, strongly advocated by the Cancer Society, will come into effect on 28 November 2021. Smoking and vaping in vehicles carrying children and young people under 18 years of age will be prohibited. We welcome this step forward towards Smokefree 2025.
Thanks @GuyonEspiner for highlighting this important issue. There is strong evidence that alcohol can increase the risk of seven types of cancer. The government needs to take more responsibility for regulating how alcohol is marketed and sold. https://t.co/vDtBnzv6Kb

Restricting signs and advertising at liquor stores is a win-win. We can create healthier, fairer environments that support Aucklanders to drink less and reap the amazing benefits. Please go to https://t.co/HZehs96rn1 to have your say. Thank you for your support!
We also know that liquor stores often feature images of alcohol brands, products and drinking occasions. Children, young people and persons with alcohol use disorders are vulnerable to these forms of advertising. Please go to https://t.co/lfybsbGQ9E to have your say.
In this column @ProfEdwardsNZ and @DrChrisBullen outline why the measures in the Smokefree 2025 Action Plan are critical for ending smoking in Aotearoa. The plan needs to be passed as a full package for us to get there, including innovations like this. https://t.co/yxezkMNJSo
We know that liquor stores can be an eyesore in the environment, with their huge posters and numerous signs. This can impact the way that communities feel about where they live.
