As part of the 3rd International Vision Zero Africa Conference (IVZAC) 2025 in Munyonyo, we proudly launched the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Poster Campaign, a game-changer for Uganda’s tourism and hospitality sector. 🏨🌍
The campaign takes on two critical issues head-on:
✅ Ending violence & harassment in the workplace
✅ Challenging risky attitudes that lead to injuries
Developed in partnership with the Federal Public Service for Employment, Labour and Social Dialogue (FPS-ELSD), @Mglsd_UG, @NotuUganda, @CoftuUganda, and @FUEmployersUg, the posters will be disseminated across hotels, restaurants, and tourism spaces, backed by partnerships, digital outreach, and media engagement.
The goal is to create safer, fairer, and healthier workplaces for all workers, employers, and visitors in Uganda's tourism and hospitality sector. 💪

🇺🇬 My visit to Uganda has been short, but it has been filled with enriching encounters that speak louder than any official statement.
I sat down with human rights defenders, people who work every day to keep civic space alive and defend fundamental freedoms. Their courage is remarkable. That’s why Belgium supports several organisations, not with words but with concrete funding and long-term commitment.
Uganda’s open-door policy for refugees is exceptional. Over 1.8 million people, many fleeing war and violence, are welcomed not into camps, but into communities, with access to land, schools and health care. But that model is now at risk, as international funding drops. The pressure is real, and solidarity is urgently needed.
And yes, international cooperation makes a difference. I had the chance to hear from @EnabelinUganda’s team on the ground about concrete results of our bilateral partnership: vocational training that leads to real jobs, education projects that change lives, and healthcare programmes that reach people in need. Belgium’s presence here is visible, respected, and effective.
