@thejackhopkins The First Step would be for the news folks to report the Actual Facts of the News.
Not the Oligarch influenced, manipulated sanewashing of Trump
If they’d held him 1/100th as accountable as they did with Biden, we may not be in this situation.
BREAKING: The New York Times has just announced that Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez will win a crucial House race in Washington keeping the Democratic path to the House Majority alive. This is huge.
Frankly, I am shaken by the size of Trump’s win. Clearly, we are in a very difficult period as a country. But even as we lick our wounds, we can’t give up the fight. So much of Trump’s agenda is dangerous and must be resisted. We owe it to ourselves and our democracy.
I’m going to have to take a news break.
A group of WW just said with their entire chests that Democrats have become the party of the elites…as racists flocked to vote for millionaires and billionaires. Hell…some weren’t even born here.
l literally fucking can’t right now🤷🏾♀️
@DanDePetris No, the fact that they voted for an autocrat fully knowing he was autocratic is what means those same voters don’t care about the issue.
You can parse all you want here, but the people who voted for Trump voted for autocracy, not because they believe in democracy.
What Tom Nichols is implying here is that the 51% of Americans who voted for Trump don’t care about American democracy, which is an odd thing to say considering that casting a ballot for your preferred candidate is the biggest democratic act a citizen can engage in. But ok.
Driving through DC today, and despite some reports floating around, few locations are boarded up compared to 2020, though some are. The vibe here is “beautiful fall day,” people are out and about, and the lines at polling places are long. Freedom is in the air.
