@MaggiesFarmRum@DinnerPlanIt Right out of the gate. That was the immediate response. So I then gauged things a little better and only tried to broach the discussion after the first drink. Had a lot of great conversations with Celiac sufferers at Acacia after that, and very positive responses.
@MaggiesFarmRum@DinnerPlanIt I once told a woman who said that only vodka was safe to drink because she had Celiac's (without caring if it was grain based) break down in tears & her husband yelled at me when I politely mentioned that the science, medicine, & Celiac orgs say that distilled spirits are safe.
@MaggiesFarmRum I've found, working behind the bar for years, that people with Celiac's have it pretty bad, and tend to not want to have people dispute them. Even if they're knowledgeable and that the biggest celiac groups have said for years that it's okay. Also, Linda Weissert drinks whiskey.
@MaggiesFarmRum And this one does a great job of talking about how distilled spirits may be safe, but that contamination is possible depending on additional processes.

@alcademics@KerrygoldUSA@YETICoolers No real correlaey there, except to say that there's a lot worse than bringing your own grenadine. ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
@alcademics I'm not ashamed to say that I brought my own carafe of melted @KerrygoldUSA in a @YETICoolers rambler to an all-you-can-eat crab joint for my birthday.
@Latitude29_NOLA@BeachBumBerry @dsoneil Oh, I just meant for the earlier cocktails, knowing you've looked into pre-tiki once or twice ๐คฃ & live in the land of pre-prohibition cocktails. Thought there might be some tiki-anticedents that this could affect. (Not at home or I would have grabbed my copy of Potions first!)
