Aerwynn, a diplomat, finds himself lost on a world he once knew and has to navigate trials, arbitrary myths and mortal treachery to fulfill a divine prophecy
With his whole life snatched from him, Aerwynn must now follow the voice guiding him to the promise of freedom. An ancient prophecy promising to "Cleanse the world of its grime" and laws that stop at nothing to prevent it from being fulfilled. Whom should Aerwynn trust?
@worillessg I tend to write with the intention of going back through the whole book and edit rigorously. There are only a small amount of lines that are there to stay.
@tonyhenandez790 Of course, but the real tension isn't in the memory loss, it's in who took it away and why. His memory now stripped away to be used as a weapon of the High Gods. Glad to hear you liked my story. I'm open to discuss my narrative work whenever you like.
@user12937289 Yeah I usually need a map to be able to start writing. It makes it so much clearer and it is actually quite easy to make a good aesthetic one using Wonderdraft
@Caelaripress I just try to keep posting and interacting with other writers and readers without giving any attention to the results. One day it’ll pay off!
@tega_ebi When everything from everyday jobs all the way to art has been replaced by fast paced content and automated images masquerading as art. The best thing we can do is fight to keep the joy of books alive!
@JamieAdStories I love taking my time to show even the subtle sensory data. From the way shadows travel across the wall as the day goes on, to the barnacles on a ship's rotted deck. A world that goes too fast is an hollow world
@elizarose159630 My main inspiration for starting creating my world was the prospect of game development. But the deeper I dived on creating Orunthal, the more I realized that I actually wanted to write a story. Now my book has become a way of putting even some of my real experiences to words.
@LeannaRapier These tropes and settings have been used for years and people just now have started to get tired of them. The problem is the lack of innovation, if we can put our own twist to these cliches then people will come.
@DoriJeanDill In my fantasy world I create naming conventions for every region in my world. Some important character like the protagonist have more meaning to their names but nothing too revealing as I find that implying a predetermined fate, dilutes the depth of the world and story.
@MatthewBockholt You are absolutely right, in my opinion the only thing a protagonist has to be is proactive. If your protagonist is a model of goodwill but makes no decision and is only carried through the story by others, then is he really a protagonist?
Follow me as I further develop the world of my WIP and trek the path all the way to publishing.
The wind beckons you to approach, you have been chosen to do so!
Buronere, the starting point of my Dark Fantasy Novel WIP. Every breeze is of divine will and every stone carries ancient secrets. Will Aerwynn make it out of the island keen on putting an end to him and to the fate that has befallen him? #Canlanicus#Writing#fantasyillustration
The forces controlling Buronere go beyond kings. From voices that echo through the trees to temples that pierce the skies and the flow on down to the docks. The king may not be able to stop Aerwynn's escape but the gods are looking on curiously.
@romelleirl I don’t write fanfic but see this becoming a problem in all creative fields. The other day I ran my own writing through an AI detector and it resulted that my work was 76% Ai. I was surprised too!
@punktanhenry I try to make it clear on my page that I use absolutely no AI but there is always that lingering fear that someone may lose interest in me and my work just because of a feeling my writing might give them.
@StevenTBoers63 Many ideas, especially in fantasy may seem genius to the writer but the more complex the idea, the more skill is required to convey it to the reader. So my most complex scenes are the ones I’m proudest of but also the ones that required the most attention.
