"The job of the WRU is to strengthen the game. But it is fatally wounding it. And we are sick of it".

I was so proud to have been part of writing @Bleddyn_1953 with @s_coombsy.
It's fantastic to see a limited reprint is being produced to celebrate 150 years of @Cardiff_Rugby.
Grab your copy if you don't have one yet.
@mangorugby Because the Welsh clubs (excluding, for the past 18 months, Cardiff) are independent, privately-owned entities who play in the URC. Those payments are the clubs' property.
Edinburgh and Glasgow are owned by the SRU.
@DJMcCrum@Steffan_Thomas1@mangorugby@RuckTheWRU What happens next is up for grabs. We can only really look at the English model as an example of what might happen if Welsh clubs joined the English league.
My understanding is that competition monies from PRL comps go direct to PRL. Then RFU pay on top for access to players.
@DJMcCrum@Steffan_Thomas1@mangorugby@RuckTheWRU It's a bit murkier than that. WRU payments to clubs include competition monies - monies which, in England, go directly to the clubs via PRL, not via the relevant Union.
My new book “Welsh Rugby Greats” is published today by Y Lolfa.
Can you name the five former internationals pictured on the front cover?
There are life and times interviews with 27 Wales stars in the book.
@huwrichards3@Hathers46allout@SwanseaRFC@Cardiff_Rugby@jpstafford The bank will be covered, a permanent grandstand built along the Mumbles Rd side, and the existing temporary structure on thatvtouchline relocated to the town end.
There are plans for a training barn at the town end.
Total planned capacity around 8,000, I believe. 2/
@huwrichards3@Hathers46allout@SwanseaRFC@Cardiff_Rugby@jpstafford In the short-term (i.e. within a week or two), I believe the plan is to reopen the bank to take capacity to around 7,000.
Much work seems left to do on the bank before the Dragons game next weekend.
If pro rugby has a future at SH, there is a second planned stage. 1/
@MattSinnott71@JNPhillips4 Then again, Craig Joubert shepherded NZ over the line against a France riven by internal rivalries but who were the better team in the final.
And we hadn't beaten NZ since the end of post-war rationing.
So the chances of suddenly overcoming all of that were remote.
@MattSinnott71@JNPhillips4 For whatever reason, I think 2011 was the one. I'm not sure why, really. We'd beaten England in the most recent 6N on the way to the GS, after all. And they were spent after beating NZ in the semi-final - it would have been a final between two knackered teams.
"Incompetence still matters in other ways. It matters for the choice of which clubs survive. It matters for legitimacy. And it matters for the legal route. A policy executed this badly can still be undone by its own paperwork".
On Keystone's case for 3.
