Gold ETF holdings continue to rise & are near Feb 2026 highs (below).
Major North American gold dealer "Out of Stock" on Canadian .9999 1 oz. Maple Leaf coins for 1st time I can recall in years.
Gold over $1,000 off ATH's, LOL
We evaluated GPT-6 Astra on WANDR. It scored 0.682 at $11.98 per task, the highest score of any model we tested.
GPT-6-Astra scored 13.5% higher than Fable 5.1 at 6.1% lower cost, and 27.0% higher than Opus 5 at 3.3% higher cost.
@robin_j_brooks@DerivativesDon 4/ Why gold? To make index performance apples/apples v. history, as DJI was denominated in gold-backed USD until FDR devalued USD v. gold in 1933. You can see that when lines split, & even more when Nixon went off gold standard
DJI in USD (blue) v. DJI in gold (red), 1928-80.
Wait, you're telling me that running $2 trillion deficits, introducing new taxes on goods, and starting a fresh war in the Middle East, has not been effective at getting the cost of living down?
Everyone is watching what Warsh says at 2:30 tomorrow. Watch what the committee says at 2:00. The FOMC statement is where compromises get forged. I mocked up one I think they could agree to, redlined from June. Full post in the first reply.

Unusual divergence in America; common divergence in EM's with debt and fiscal problems.
Mythos (Fable), which released today, seems to be a generational improvement in LLM capability, the likes of which we haven't seen since OAI's O1 model first released in late 2024.
It's incredible to think how far AI has come in such a short time. From Chat-only in 2022, to early reasoning models in 2024, to agents in Q4 25', to this new era of near-human or better-than-human agents capable of wide ranging intellectual tasks.
It's hard to overstate how big of a deal this model is. It shows that LLMs are not slowing down, and it's strong evidence against the skeptical view that LLM models are hitting
Huge congrats to @AnthropicAI on Mythos and to everyone involved in the AI revolution.
A thread of some of the highlights from the model card today 👇
This is the chart that everyone should be watching.
If the Token Pricing rolls over, everything from the memory trade to the broader hard-ware and data-centre trade is over for this cycle imho.
The whole setup depends on this..
Average millennial/gen z podcasters calling markets a ponzi…most of the time they get called out for being conspiracy theorists by the boomer corporatist class cuz they aren’t working hard enough.
Meanwhile, two of the most monetarily successful hedge fund managers saying the same thing publicly about markets…no one blinks and audience nods head.
@infraa_
Gotta love the game!!
The generational turn in truth is gonna be so fascinating.
THINGS THAT QUIETLY DESTROY MOST TRADERS:
1. Romanticizing trading while refusing to respect how brutal it actually is.
2. Thinking intelligence automatically makes you a good trader.
3. Expecting peace from a profession built on uncertainty.
4. Being “passionate” about trading means nothing if you can’t handle repetition and uncertainty.
5. Looking for motivation instead of emotional stability.
6. Most traders are not emotionally stable enough for this profession.
7. Some people never become profitable because deep down chaos feels more familiar than discipline.
8. Mistaking stimulation for passion. A lot of traders are addicted to chaos, not trading.
9. Taking every drawdown as a personal attack on your intelligence.
10. Watching profitable traders for motivation while refusing to copy their boring discipline.

The US is pouring more capital into AI data centers in 6 years (~$930B) than the inflation-adjusted cost of the Marshall Plan, Apollo, Manhattan Project, and the Interstate Highway System — combined.
Meanwhile: AI ≈ 45% of the S&P. Energy ≈ 4%.
Everyone is overweight the thing that needs power. Underweight the power.

Introducing the Yield Smile.
Just like the dollar smile, but for bond yields in a fiscal-dominant world. Move too far down in stocks and deficits blow out, move to strong in the economy and inflation remains persistent.
Policymakers are now directly managing the stock market given its importance in propping up the economy via wealth effect, capital gains taxes and financial market stability. Years of intervention have created the tinder for another inflation problem.
A chart that discredits two current common views at once:
1. "Germany output didn't suffer during the 2022 oil/energy shock."
2. "The global economy can do just fine without 7-10% of its oil supplies indefinitely."
THE PHOTONICS ROTATION
Almost nobody is watching photonics.
As AI clusters scale, copper hits physical limits and the next bottleneck becomes optical infrastructure.
Here are 15 names positioned for it:
1. $LITE owns the laser + optical switching side of the trade and is one of the cleanest pure plays on AI optical demand.
2. $COHR wins from lasers, modules, and networking hardware that power hyperscale AI infrastructure and cloud expansion.
3. $AAOI is one of the best ways to play AI optical transceivers with major hyperscaler demand for 800G and 1.6T connectivity.
4. $SIVE benefits from the push toward faster semiconductor-to-optical integration as AI infrastructure scales.
5. $MRVL controls a huge part of the DSP + interconnect story with optical networking chips and high-speed connectivity.
6. $AVGO sits at the center of AI networking through switching, custom silicon, and optical interconnect demand.
7. $ANET is the Ethernet backbone moving massive AI workloads across hyperscale clusters and data centers.
8. $GLW supplies the specialty glass + fiber needed for the optical transport layer behind AI infrastructure.
9. $JBL benefits from building and scaling the actual hardware behind networking systems and optical modules.
10. $AEHR wins from burn-in + testing demand as AI ASICs and high-power optical hardware move into production.
11. $POET is focused on lower-cost optical engines designed to improve efficiency inside AI data centers.
12. $LWLG is pushing next-gen polymer photonics that could make optical communication faster and more efficient.
13. $QCLS brings exposure to advanced laser systems supporting precision photonics and next-gen optical demand.
14. $LPTH provides specialty optics and photonic components tied to industrial, defense, and AI-driven systems.
15. $ALAB gives exposure to the connectivity + infrastructure side helping AI clusters scale faster.
Most people won’t care until these are already up 100%.
