Anyone in #indianapolis#compost and noticing larvae in your compost? They’re great. Also - can I have some? DM me if you see them - we are using them (black soldier flies) in our research.
It was great to meet Dr. Manuel de Araújo, mayor of Quelimane, and chat about the sanitation and health challenges the city faces. Excited to work together and generate data that can inform decision making.
@naughtoncc@dwallacewells@JoeBrownUNC Looks like they are referring to the public toilet index (https://t.co/qMiDes3iMh). But it's not entirely clear where the underlying data is coming from? Perhaps just Google maps?
"Dr.C, I found one crummy looking pinworm egg on the wetmount, but I cannot find anymore after 15 mins to confirm!"
UV for the win!
Many helmith ova are autofluorescent under broad range excitation filters! This is a standard filter block used for calcofluor white.

The pXRF is so cool. Rapid and informative. Thanks @EPdelrio for letting me sit in on the training. And it's nice to know Pb in my mug is below the LOD!
Just out: open-access paper in @PLOSWater on the impact of the public toilets on enteric pathogen hazards in San Francisco, led by Troy Barker & @CaponeLabIU (co-first) & with a stellar team including @HeatherKAmato & Jay Graham

@shitsheaux @MyLordBebo This is disingenous. There have been several attempts at mapping discarded feces in San Francsico (and other cities). The 411 data is still being collected, and I believe publicly available. From experience, that map is almost certainly more than 11 days of data.
