Over 40% of homes are owned by Boomers. 40-50% of property taxes go to schools. Yes there are way better ways to fund schools, but as of now, this is a suggestion to make major cuts to public education and we need to be honest about that.

@j_em_bee @Mike_from_PA The DSA functions as the conscience whigs of the party. It's full of people that want to break from the two parties, and are just waiting for an alternative to be viable. It's also a social welfare organization, most of what they do has to be more than electoral politics

@_Credible_Hulk Businesses determine the value of things by appraising all the land, resources, energy, and labor that go into making a good or service. So valuation starts at the planning stage, not when goods and services are sold. The point of sale is where it *ends*.

It's like selling a lottery ticket. The worker is the vendor, and the business is the buyer. The vendor doesn't have any right to take the jackpot back.

Capitalists buy labor on the labor market, and the cost for what workers need to live is less than what they produce. He just thinks capitalists are superfluous and they don't need all the surplus value either.
